IS-Wireless Research Presented at WCNC 2026
We are pleased to share the latest research from our partner, IS-Wireless, presented at WCNC 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (13–16 April 2026). Their paper, “Seamless Handover Mechanisms for CF-mMIMO Networks in O-RAN: A dApp Approach,” introduces a new solution for fast and reliable handovers in Cell-Free Massive MIMO (CF-mMIMO) networks.
The proposed approach uses a distributed application (dApp) at the O-DU level to enable sub-10 millisecond handover control through the O-RAN D2 interface. By creating a dedicated handover queue at the target O-DU and duplicating data streams during transition, the solution helps avoid packet loss and reduce service delay.
The results show near-zero packet loss, lower delay, and high efficiency, marking an important step toward practical and scalable CF-mMIMO deployments in O-RAN.
